R360 Players Hit With 10-Year Exclusion from NRL

The rugby star won 20 international appearances for New Zealand before transferring allegiance to Samoa.

The NRL's governing body has stated that players who enter the “rebel” R360 will be barred for 10 years.

R360, scheduled to begin in 2026, is hoping to draw athletes from both codes with substantial agreements and a condensed game calendar.

Prominent rugby league players have allegedly been contacted by R360, which will include six or eight men's sides and four women's teams based in key urban centers around the world.

The Samoan the player, who represents New Zealand Warriors in the league, has confirmed he has had talks with the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Haas and Gray are also reported to be considering joining the rebel league.

A group of union teams, including Australia, last week imposed a ban on R360 recruits playing test matches.

“We heard our franchises and we've acted decisively,” said Australian Rugby League Commission chairman the official.

“Regrettably, there will continually be entities that attempt to hijack our sport for economic benefit.

“They fail to contribute in pathways or the development of athletes. They merely capitalize on the efforts of others, jeopardizing careers of monetary damage while profiting themselves.

“Essentially, they are, copying the game.”

The league is established by ex-England star Tindall and funded by private investors.

Subsequent to the potential rugby union prohibitions were announced last week, it said: “We want to work collaboratively as integrated into the worldwide fixture list.

“The event is structured with customized calendars for both genders and the organization will release all players for test matches, as written into their contracts.”

R360 will seek approval for its plans from the international authority, the sport's governing body, at its board session next year.
