Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have got lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
