Congressional Democrats Disclose Newest Batch of Epstein Photos as Justice Department Deadline Approaches
Oversight Panel
The House Oversight Committee has published a set of approximately 70 photos from the estate of former convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
This constitutes the latest in a series of publication from a cache of over 95,000 images the panel has obtained from Epstein's holdings. It features images of quotes from the novel Lolita written across a woman's body, and obscured photos of female international passports.
This action comes hours before the December 19th cut-off for the Department of Justice to disclose all documents related to its probe into Epstein.
"These new photos pose more questions about precisely what the DOJ has in its possession," remarked the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.
What is in the Images Made Public
Several of the photos made public on this week depict Epstein speaking with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky inside a private jet; Bill Gates seen alongside a female whose features is redacted; Steve Bannon sitting at a workstation across from Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a evening meal.
Investigative Body
These are the latest affluent, powerful individuals to be pictured in Epstein property images published by the House Oversight Committee - earlier published pictures also depict US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.
Being pictured in the images is is not considered indication of any wrongdoing, and a number of the photographed figures have stated they were not involved in Epstein's illegal activity.
In a statement accompanying the image publication, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein property holders did not supply explanatory details or timings for the images.
"Photos were selected to furnish the American people with clarity into a representative sample of the images received from the holdings, and to offer insights into Epstein's circle and his exceptionally alarming actions," the announcement says.

The publication also features several images of quotes from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita written in dark ink across several locations of a female's body, such as her upper body, foot, hip, and back. Lolita narrates the tale of a adolescent who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.
An example of a passage from the work inscribed across a woman's torso states, "Lolita: the tip of the tongue traveling of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth".
There are also a collection of images of female passports and identification documents from states globally, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the details on the IDs, like identities and dates of birth, is redacted but the House Oversight Committee indicated in a announcement that the travel documents belong to "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were interacting with".
Another image depicts Epstein sitting at a workstation in close proximity flanked by three individuals whose features have been censored - one individual has her hand on Epstein's upper body under his shirt, and a second is crouching to examine a nearby device. Epstein seems to be aiding the third individual attach a wristband.
Investigative Body
Another photograph released is a capture of text messages from an unknown person who says they have been provided "some girls" and are requesting "$$1,000 per girl".
Photo Release Occurs Ahead of DOJ Deadline
The body has a vast number of photographs in its holdings from the Epstein holdings, which are "at once explicit and everyday," its announcement on recently explained.
The oversight panel first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on allegations of human trafficking, in August.
The images and files the Epstein estate's representatives submitted to the body are different than what is largely termed "the Epstein files". That material are records under the justice department's custody connected to its separate inquiry into Epstein.
Under the recently passed law, which the President enacted recently, the DOJ has until 19 December to release its records. The scope of the contents found in the DOJ's records is unknown, and it's likely that much of the information will be extensively obscured, comparable to House Oversight Committee materials
