The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many fans into the NFL
That result may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an surprising result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - yes Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with James Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - rather than the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season
Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the top team?
One could find flaws in New England, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their total 24 wins coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Colts beating the Denver
The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight victories, just like the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for courage after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his side to success
The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There is a long way to travel but the door is available for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in Los Angeles
They've both won four in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a game
Both could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a score
The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly among the best sides in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
